Summer DIY Projects

Summer is the time to get creative; school is over and you can finally get to those projects you have been seeing on TikTok! Let’s take you back to 2016 when DIY was at its peak. After all, what better way to enjoy your free time than working on art projects? And don’t fret if you’re not a crafter, these four summer DIY projects are also non-artist friendly!

  1. Paint Mason Jars

    1. This is one of my favorite DIY projects! All you need is a mason jar and paint, and luckily these products can be found at almost any craft store/Amazon. Last summer, a couple of my friends and I painted different designs on mason jars and had a great time, and I am not a good painter by any means! After creating your favored design, let it dry and take a sip of iced cold lemonade from your jar!

  2. Make Beaded Necklaces/Phone charms

    1. Necklaces are the perfect accessory for any time of year, but especially summer! For this DIY all you need is a string (which you can adjust to fit your desired length) and beads. Phone strings are also trending, so you can make a chain to attach to your phone as well if you’d like. This DIY is great for expressing yourself and making jewelry that reflects you!

  3. Paint Tote Bags

    1. Tote bags are the bags of 2021. They are spacious and perfect for a picnic date, beach day, or just to carry in general! This DIY is super simple- all you need is a tote bag and paint. I’d recommend plain tote bags so you can design them however you’d like.

  4. Clay Trays

    1. For this DIY, you will need air dry clay, paint, Mod Podge, and patience! The first step is to shape the tray out of clay. Then, let it harden. It is recommended that you wait a full day. Once it is ready, you can paint it. After it dries, add a coat of Mod Podge to give it a nice finish. Clay trays are great for storing jewelry in a fashionable way!
